Join our network of young changemakers! In December, UNLEASH is running a Global Innovation Lab in Karnataka (India). Here’s your chance to learn about design thinking and the Sustainable Development Goals! UNLEASH will cover the costs of flight travel, accommodation, food, curriculum, facilitation, and program activities for the entire event.
The next UNLEASH Innovation Lab will take place in the state of Karnataka in India, from the December 3rd – 11th (tentatively). The lab will gather 1,000 young people between the ages of 20 and 35 to come up with innovative solutions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
RELEVANT SUSTAINABLE GOALS
UNLEASH GLOBAL INNOVATION LAB INDIA 2022
As a participant of the Global Innovation Lab India, you will get a hands-on opportunity to work on some of the most pressing global sustainability challenges. The challenges are divided into 7 thematic tracks that tackle specific SDGs. In addition, there is a special track for the UNLEASH Plus 2022 program, co-hosted with Chemonics International, in which selected top teams will work with international experts and pitch the projects they have been working on for the previous 6 months to potential funders.
With the young talents will be immersed in a weeklong innovation experience where they will receive support and sparring from facilitators and mentors to frame problems and develop early-stage prototype solutions within the chosen themes.
As a central part of the experience, talents will have the opportunity to experience the local culture of Karnataka through cultural excursions and social events that will unlock new perspectives.

THE PROGRAM
UNLEASH will be welcoming 1,000 selected talents to Mysore, India on the 3rd of December with a big event that includes speeches from thought leaders and innovation experts. The Opening Ceremony will introduce the talents to each other and the program for the week.
For the next few days, the teams will be busy problem framing, ideating, and developing innovative solutions through UNLEASH’s methodology based on human-centered design thinking.
On December 11th, the Lab will conclude with a grand closing ceremony. Talents will present their ideas, and some will receive prizes at a formal award ceremony. Participants will hear from inspirational leaders around the world who will share insights and empower them for the journey ahead.
WHO CAN APPLY ?
The Global Innovation Lab India is open to young people between the ages of 20 and 35. We select participants that are:
- passionate and committed to solving the world’s sustainability challenges
- Creative and have an innovative mindset
- Enthusiastic about working together with peers and experts
- Able to understand and communicate in English
