INDIA PLASTIC CHALLENGE HACKATHON 2021
India Plastic Challenge 2021 is a platform for students and young innovators to put forth their ideas or showcase solutions that aim at reducing Single Use Plastics (SUPs), leading the nation towards circular economy.
TRACK 1 – DIGITAL SOLUTION FOR PLASTIC WASTE
Track 1 aims to effectively track and monitor plastic waste. Indicative themes for this track :
- Indication of sources and assessment of plastic waste collection, management and disposal
- Integration of informal waste sectors
- Innovative circular economy approaches
- Transparent data relay and connecting to national database on plastics
TRACK 2 – ELIMINATION OF SINGLE-USE PLASTICS
Track 2 aims to provide affordable alternatives and reduce dependence on plastics. Indicative themes for this track :
- Alternatives to SUP items – cutlery, packaging, etc
- Design for environment – reduce material use in packaging
- Decentralised recycling technologies
- SUP waste to resources

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR TRACK 1 and TRACK 2
- Open for students, young innovators, and startups
- Applicants should have a clearly defined solution
- Early ideation, proof of concept, product, or pre-revenue stage solutions
- Students pursuing Bachelors, Masters, PhD in Indian Institutions can apply
Top three winners from each track to get cash rewards.
