Sanitary Pads can be quite a luxury for those who are struggling to make ends meet.
While lack of access to period products is typically associated with menstruators in other countries, period poverty isn’t just someone else’s problem. It’s happening right here in Singapore. When menstruators don’t have access to period products, not only do they not feel protected, but it also puts their confidence, dignity and education at risk. They’re less likely to be able to participate in their education & other activities, and if they are, they’re likely to feel distracted and unable to focus on reaching their full potential. For that, Go With The Flow (GWTF) aims to end period poverty in Singapore through sanitary pad donation and distribution.
Help under-privileged and low-income menstruators in Singapore get through their periods dignified and worry free.
RELEVANT SUSTAINABLE GOALS
GO WITH THE FLOW (GWTF) DONATION DRIVE
Through sanitary pad donation and distribution, Go With The Flow (GWTF) Singapore aims to eradicate period poverty in Singapore and close the gender gap in menstrual healthcare.
From now till 13 January 2022, those eager to contribute can drop off the pads at 3 different drop-off points (from 10 am – 6 pm daily) :
- Punggol West Community Centres (CC)
- Punggol Sapphirald RB Centre
- Waterway RN Centre
Do note that they are only accepting sealed packets of sanitary pads. These include day pads, night pads, and pantyliners of any brand and length.
Every month, Go With The Flow (GWTF) distributes menstrual care packs to disadvantaged individuals in Singapore who are referred by various social service organizations and mutual aid networks.
We applaud GWTF for leading the way and taking action to solve this problem.
You can also get involved in the Go With The Flow (GWTF) cause by volunteering to help bridge menstrual healthcare access to under-served communities in Singapore. For more information, write to them here.
