VinFast introduces Range of right-hand drive electric vehicles at the 2024 IIMS, Jakarta – Indonesia.
VinFast, the Vietnamese automaker, marked its debut in Indonesia with an impressive lineup of new right-hand drive electric vehicles (EVs) at the 2024 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS). This move signifies a major leap in VinFast’s ambitious global expansion, spotlighting the company’s commitment to propelling sustainable transportation both locally and globally.
RELEVANT SUSTAINABLE GOALS
At IIMS 2024, VinFast unveiled models ranging from the compact VF 5 to the expansive VF 9, covering a broad spectrum from A-segment sports utility vehicles (SUVs) to E-SUVs. This diverse offering underscores the company’s mission to enrich Indonesian consumers’ lives with sustainable transportation solutions and inspire a future where modern, eco-friendly transport is the norm.
Vinfast’s Expansion to Indonesia
Indonesia stands as the pioneering market for VinFast’s right-hand drive electric vehicles, showcasing the company’s robust manufacturing prowess and its dedication to making green transportation universally accessible. The VF 5, VF e34, VF 6, and VF 7 models, spanning segments A to C, are poised to lead VinFast’s charge in the Indonesian market.
VinFast’s vehicles boast a modern, youthful aesthetic, melding cutting-edge technology with versatile designs to cater to a wide array of consumer preferences. The company emphasizes flexible purchasing options and superior after-sales service to make sustainable transportation a tangible reality for more people.
Further facilitating EV adoption, VinFast is set to collaborate with local partners to develop a comprehensive nationwide charging infrastructure. This strategic move aims to eliminate barriers to electric mobility in Indonesia, significantly enhancing the uptake of eco-friendly vehicles.

Aligning with its vision for a sustainable transportation future, VinFast has announced plans to establish a local EV manufacturing facility in Indonesia. This factory, projected to produce 50,000 vehicles annually, is expected not only to generate thousands of jobs but also to bolster the domestic EV sector and integrate into VinFast’s global supply chain.
Founded in 2017 and a part of the Vingroup conglomerate, VinFast is propelling forward the global smart electric vehicle revolution from its advanced manufacturing hub in Hai Phong, Vietnam, known for its high automation and scalability.
