PepsiCo Launches Third Greenhouse Accelerator Program in APAC to Boost Sustainability Innovation

PepsiCo Greenhouse Accelerator Program 2025
For the 2025 Sustainability Edition, PepsiCo Greenhouse Accelerator Program is seeking sustainable APAC startups who want to innovate, grow, and get real-world feedback on their products and solutions.
PepsiCo, a global leader in food and beverages, has announced the return of its Greenhouse Accelerator (GHAC) program in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Now in its third year, the initiative aims to empower startups developing solutions in sustainable agriculture, the circular economy, and greenhouse gas emissions reduction.

RELEVANT SUSTAINABLE GOALS

This mentorship-driven program underscores PepsiCo’s dedication to fostering innovation that reduces environmental impact. GHAC provides early-stage startups with access to business advisory services, collaboration opportunities, and financial support, creating a platform for meaningful change in food systems.

Supporting Startups to Drive Sustainable Growth

With 15 pilot projects launched across seven markets in its 2023 and 2024 cohorts, GHAC is more than an accelerator—it’s a proving ground for sustainability solutions. By collaborating with PepsiCo, startups gain tools and resources to scale their ideas and align environmental goals with business growth.
“PepsiCo’s Greenhouse Accelerator Program is dedicated to empowering startups with the tools, resources, and mentorship required to drive meaningful change and scale innovations across our food systems,” said Ashley Brown, VP Supply Chain ANZ & Chief Sustainability Officer, PepsiCo APAC.
This year’s program responds to the challenge that 39% of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in APAC face: the inability to align environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) goals with internal growth strategies. Through GHAC, PepsiCo bridges this gap with targeted mentorship and support.

Incentives for Innovation

The 2025 GHAC program will select 10 finalists, each receiving $20,000 in grants. The winning startup will receive an additional $100,000 to scale its solution. Beyond financial backing, participants will gain mentorship from PepsiCo executives and accelerator experts to tackle operational challenges and catalyze growth.
This year, GHAC has partnered with GC Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of PTT Global Chemical, and Circulate Capital, a long-term collaborator. These partnerships aim to deliver tailored feedback and guidance to program participants. PepsiCo’s bottling partners in Thailand and Vietnam, Suntory PepsiCo Beverage Thailand and Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage, will also extend their support.
Alterno, the 2024 GHAC winner, exemplifies the program’s potential. The company developed Asia’s first low-cost thermal energy storage solution using sand battery technology. By replacing traditional snack drying methods with this lower-emission alternative, Alterno offers PepsiCo an opportunity to cut energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions while scaling renewable energy applications.

“The success of startups like Alterno highlights the importance of programs like GHAC in driving meaningful change,” Brown added. “Participants not only gain access to PepsiCo’s vast network and expertise but also benefit from mentorship and collaboration opportunities that enhance their solutions and market readiness.”
The Greenhouse Accelerator 2025 APAC Sustainability Edition invites startups to submit their applications through greenhouseaccelerator.com/apac/ or via PepsiCo’s LinkedIn page.

Applications open from January 9 to March 13, 2025.
