RELEVANT SUSTAINABLE GOALS
FORCE DISPLACEMENT AND URBAN PLANNING CONFERENCE (INDONESIA)
RDI UREF and SUAKA are co-organising the first Forced Displacement and Urban Management Conference 2021. The interactive and dynamic conference will be conducted online by combining both pre-recorded session material and live QnA discussion. The live discussion of the conference will be conducted on 7-9 September 2021.
Forced Displacement and Urban Management Conference 2021 consists of plenary sessions, three thematic sessions (right to the city; space and place; beyond resettlement), and special sessions (youth; and refugees).
PARTNERSHIP AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FOR THE COFFEE SECTOR (VN, ID, PH)
With support from Grow Asia, the PPP Coffee Taskforce of Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture in Vietnam (PSAV) with Coffee Working Groups of the Partnership for Indonesia’s Sustainable Agriculture (PISAgro) and Philippines Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture (PPSA) will host a learning and sharing event on “Partnership and Sustainable Development for the Coffee sector in Viet Nam, Indonesia, and Philippines. The virtual event aims to :
- Facilitate learning, knowledge sharing and exchange of practical experience among coffee stakeholders in the countries
- To address priority issues and common challenges in “partnership and sustainable development” for coffee sector
- To examine potential linkages among coffee stakeholders in Indonesia, the Philippines and Viet Nam.
INDIA CLIMATE INVESTMENT CONCLAVE 2021
India Climate Investment Conclave 2021 is India’s first of its kind, pioneering convening by Impact Investors Council (IIC) focused exclusively on mainstreaming capital for early-stage, climate-tech innovations. A springboard of futuristic ideas and experiences from the leading industry stakeholders.
IIC’s two-day virtual conclave will unearth the transformative potential of early-stage, tech-driven start-ups in fighting Climate Change and building back Bharat.
Women In Climate Entrepreneurship (India)
Studies suggest that women account for just 22-25% of total employees in the power sector, and a low proportion work in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) roles. Climate Certificate Program aims to equip aspiring women entrepreneurs and innovators with necessary knowledge and skills for running a venture through hands on learning and practical training related to climate issues and innovation.
Organised by Climate Collective Network, Women in Climate Entrepreneurship is an initiative to develop a more gender inclusive ecosystem for climate start-ups.
Climate Ready for Women is a 5-month pre-accelerator program designed specifically for early stage women entrepreneurs in climate & cleantech business, focusing on business literacy and building successful business models through training and mentorship. The program is designed to bridge the missing skills so that women entrepreneurs build confidence and gain adequate knowledge to thrive in the market and actively seek support available in the ecosystem.
Who can apply?
- A women founder/ co-founder in clean energy/ energy access/ mobility/ energy efficiency
- Be an Indian citizen and based/registered in India
- Startup is at or near MVP stage or pilot sales
YOUTH CO:LAB INDIA 2021
Co-created in 2017 by UNDP Asia and the Pacific and Citi Foundation, YOUTH CO:LAB is a multi-dimensional and multi-level response to tackle the challenges young people face by positioning youth front and center to find solutions to today’s most pressing problems. Youth Co:Lab aims to establish a common agenda for Asia-Pacific countries to invest in and empower youth to accelerate the implementation of the SDGs through leadership, social innovation and entrepreneurship.
UNDP India and Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog have joined hands to strengthen the youth-led innovation and social entrepreneurship ecosystem through Youth Co:Lab India. The fourth edition of Youth Co:Lab India will focus on identifying and supporting youth climate and green entrepreneurs. Youth Co:Lab 2021 seeks to invite youth-led early stage social enterprises or innovations working in the space of circular economy and waste management, sustainable transportation and e-mobility, sustainable tourism and sustainable food tech.
YOUTH CO:LAB is looking for passionate founders with solutions that solve real problems and/or create meaningful co-innovation opportunities, and we expect applications that exhibit :
- Innovative teams led by youth aged between 18 to 29, with business, technical, and other necessary skills.
- Have a prototype or product centred on the above mentioned themes.
- Ideas/solutions that are viable and scalable will be preferred. Having said that, we are definitely not averse to exploring possibilities with ideation stage startups or aspiring entrepreneurs with a rockstar team and conviction to make an impact.
- The startup/team should be less than 5 years old, i.e. the founding team formation / startup incorporation should be post August 2016.
- We encourage teams led by young women, LGBTI, persons with disability to apply.
