YouthWhile the world continue grappled with recovery form the Covid-19 pandemic, decades of environmental deflation came into our collective consciousness. We witness the impact of climate crisis in our communities first hand. From floods, landslides, drought, heatwaves and other manifestations of climate catastrophe. Extreme weather events became more frequent around the Philippines and urge for immediate action.
Youth Advocates for Climate Action Philippines, alongside other climate groups around the world gears up for more action in 2022. In the Philippines, may elections are critical opportunity.

Youth Climate Action 2022
Millions of Filipinos are affected by worsening climate impacts every single year; just last December 2021, the country was once again devastated by a monstrous typhoon that flattened entire villages and destroyed livelihoods and lives overnight. Unrelenting global warming and climate change, largely driven by the carbon emissions of industrialized countries, continues to have a direct impact on the Filipino people. Should nothing change locally and globally, our situation will only get worse.
With the climate crisis and its impact on the Filipino people, the upcoming 2022 National elections in May presents a crucial opportunity for the Filipino people to elect green new leadership that is ready to take on the national and international challenge that is the climate crisis, all the while ensuring the people and planet are centred in the process. In the spirit of urgency Youth Advocates for Climate Action Philippines presents Youth Climate Agenda 2022 as a challenge to the election candidates.
