Value Network Ventures and Mae Fah Luang Foundation Partner to Advance Nature-Based Climate Solutions Across Southeast Asia

Strategic partnership targets carbon, biodiversity and community-led conservation projects in Thailand, Indonesia and the wider region.
Value Network Ventures (VNV) and the Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage (MFLF) have formalized a strategic partnership to establish a regional framework for Nature-based Solutions (NbS) across Thailand, Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

The collaboration is designed to advance high-impact climate initiatives focused on Afforestation, Reforestation and Revegetation (ARR), Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+), Blue Carbon and biodiversity conservation.

The partnership begins with pilot activities in Thailand before expanding into a broader pipeline of projects across Southeast Asia.

RELEVANT SUSTAINABLE GOALS

Partnership Combines Technical Expertise and Community Engagement

Under the agreement, the Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage will lead government facilitation as well as stakeholder and community engagement.

Value Network Ventures will serve as the technical lead, overseeing project design and development, carbon modelling and market structuring.

The collaboration combines community engagement with technical project development to support the implementation of Nature-based Solutions aligned with regional priorities.

Initial Thailand Projects to Support Regional Expansion

The partners said the collaboration will initially focus on pilot projects in Thailand as the foundation for developing a national pipeline of Nature-based Solutions initiatives.

The framework is intended to expand beyond Thailand into Indonesia and other countries across Southeast Asia, supporting the development of climate and biodiversity projects throughout the region.

Focus on Afforestation, REDD+, Blue Carbon and Biodiversity

The partnership will concentrate on several key Nature-based Solutions approaches designed to deliver climate outcomes.

These include Afforestation, Reforestation and Revegetation (ARR), initiatives under Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+), Blue Carbon projects and biodiversity-focused programmes.

The partners said these areas form the core of their strategy to support climate action across Southeast Asia.
Together, Value Network Ventures and the Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage aim to build a scalable platform of Nature-based Solutions projects rooted in community-led stewardship.

The collaboration will also emphasize regulatory alignment and rigorous technical integrity in accordance with global carbon and biodiversity standards.

By combining government facilitation, stakeholder participation and technical project development, the partnership seeks to establish a framework for Nature-based Solutions that can be expanded across Thailand, Indonesia and the wider Southeast Asian region.
