Webinar: Leveraging Technology to Help NGOs Amplify Their Impact

With the help of hundreds of billions of dollars in international aid, nongovernment organizations (NGOs) across Asia and the Pacific play a key role in delivering vital programs and services to help people in need.
However, many NGOs struggle to effectively leverage digital technology, and have little capacity to undertake digital transformation. Many lack the appropriate funding and resources to invest in the technology infrastructure required for digital transformation initiatives. Language and cultural diversity across the region also makes it more difficult to implement standardized solutions.

RELEVANT SUSTAINABLE GOALS

A new report from Infoxchange, a not-for-profit (NFP) social enterprise advocating the use of technology to address development challenges, found that while many NGOs recognize the value of enhancing the digital capabilities of their staff and volunteers, knowing where to start can be a challenge. The report, which is based on the poll of 1,600 NGOs across the region, also found the following:
  • 1 in 6 organizations experienced a cyber security incident in the last 12 months
  • 1 in 2 organizations do not have technology that adequately enables staff and volunteers to work remotely
  • 62% of organizations do not have a system that enables them to understand their impact.
Based on the report’s findings, a webinar that will be held in September, will help NGOs bolster their digital capabilities. The webinar will help build NGOs’ skills in four areas:
  • NFP cloud collaboration, selection, migration, and support
  • Data capture and analysis to track and improve impact
  • Digital marketing techniques to attract funding
  • Cyber security protection to keep data and employees safe.
The webinar is open to any organization in the region and is part of the Asia–Pacific NGO Digital Transformation Project Infoxchange launched with support from Google.org, Google’s philanthropic arm, and the Asian Development Bank.
