Reshaping Humanitarian Work
Amidst existing challenges faced by displaced and stateless individuals, the Refugee-led Innovation Fund breaks barriers by offering direct funding and support. It revolutionizes the program architecture, ensuring that those with lived experiences of forced displacement take the lead in implementing their own innovative approaches. With this fund, the voices and contributions of refugee-led organizations are amplified and celebrated.
The Refugee-led Innovation Fund invites applications from organizations led by individuals with first-hand experience of forced displacement, including refugees, asylum-seekers, internally displaced persons, returnees, and stateless individuals. Teams, usually part of existing organizations, are encouraged to apply, regardless of their registration status. The fund is particularly committed to supporting underrepresented groups, such as LGBTIQ+ persons, women, people with disabilities, and other marginalized communities.
Comprehensive Support For Impact
Selected organizations will receive a range of support from the Refugee-led Innovation Fund:
- Financial Support: Up to $45,000 USD in funding to bring their community-focused ideas to life, without limitations on thematic areas or technologies.
- Program and Project Management Support: Assistance from UNHCR and expert professionals to enhance capacity in program design and implementation.
- Technical Expertise and Coaching: Tailored advice on technology, legal support, innovation methodologies, and more.
- Peer-to-Peer Networking: Opportunities for collaboration, sharing experiences, learning, and exploring partnerships with other supported organizations.
- Additional Support: Customized guidance on organizational development, project sustainability, training, business models, and media and communications.
