RELEVANT SUSTAINABLE GOALS
Success Story : Aruna Indonesia
In recent years, the industry has witnessed tremendous growth, attracting startups and entrepreneurs from all over the world. One such startup, Aruna, is revolutionizing the fishery supply chain in Indonesia by connecting small-scale fishermen with overseas importers directly through its app and website.
Aruna’s Co-Founder and CEO, Farid Naufal Aslam, shared his experience building the marine-focused startup, which has covered more than 190 locations and almost 50,000 fishermen in the form of hubs where the fishermen transact in fishing or fishpond villages. The company’s goal is to improve fishermen’s productivity, provide sustainable ways to fish, and make Indonesia the global maritime axis.
Product diversification is one of Aruna’s ways to add more commodities, distribute and launch value-added products, and control market share in several commodities. By focusing on coverage numbers, Aruna ensures a consistent supply side to customers, both in the local and global markets.
