Berlin / Singapore, 1 October 2024. After a successful start to this year’s international event series in London, the GREENTECH FESTIVAL will return  for its 3rd GTF Connect in Singapore taking place from 21 – 23rd October. The  festival has announced a new venue, hosted at Sofitel on the picturesqueSentosa Island, and looks forward to exploring the theme: “Tear Down, Rethink, Rebuild for Tomorrow.”

RELEVANT SUSTAINABLE GOALS

Set against the backdrop of Singapore’s southern coast, GTF Connect Singapore will serve as a pivotal gathering for thought leaders, innovators,  and visionaries, all focused on addressing some of the most critical challenges of our era. The event will open on the evening of October 21st with  the renowned GREEN AWARDS. Followed by the second and third day filled with keynotes, panel discussions, workshops and innovative exhibits at the CONFERENCE and EXHIBITION.

Celebrating innovative minds and thought leaders at the GREEN AWARDS

Hosted by actor and climate activist Antoinette Taus, with a musical performance by Singaporean singer-songwriter Inch Chua, the GREEN AWARDS, presented by Audi, will celebrate trailblazing innovation and visionary talent. In the ‘Start-up’ category, the nominees – VFlow Tech, Billion Bricks, or SepPure Technologies – will go home with the prestigious award. Additionally, producer, presenter, and storyteller Nadya Hutagalung will be honoured with the “Special Achievement Award” in recognition of her outstanding contributions to environmental sustainability. Through initiatives like Let Elephants Be Elephants, GRASP, and her role as a UNEP Goodwill Ambassador, Nadya has inspired meaningful action for conservation across Southeast Asia and beyond.

I am deeply honoured to receive the Special Achievement Award at The GREEN AWARDS 2024. I hope to use this recognition as a bridge to the next generation of thought leaders committed to innovative green technologies. Now more than ever, we must understand the connection between our inner well-being and the planet's health. Unless we ourselves are truly well and have the tools of inner resilience to be able to face and create solutions for the external realities that we are all facing we will not be able to become the changemakers our world urgently needs.

GTF CONFERENCE offering a stage for visionary leaders and bold innovators

On the second day, 22nd October, GTF Connect will open its doors to the CONFERENCE, partnered with Vodafone Business, providing a platform for exceptional leaders and bold pioneers to come together and discuss sustainable business solutions needed for lasting change. An estimated 1,000 attendees will experience panel discussions, keynotes, and workshops centred around three core themes: “Building for the Future,” “Leading Green Business,” and “Securing Supply: Food & Materials.”
GTF Connect will host an impressive line-up of esteemed speakers, including Benjamin Horton, Director of the Earth Observatory of Singapore; Esther An, Chief Sustainability Officer at CDL; Esther Chang, Executive Director at UN Global Compact Network Singapore; Jamie QQ Wu, Co-Founder of ModaMorphosis; Kong Man Jing, Co-Founder of Just Keep Thinking and content creator; and Sandrine Dixson-Declève, Co-President of The Club of Rome. Many more Greentech experts will join them on stage.
Another major highlight are the Green Start-up Slams, where start-ups pitch their products and ideas to the CONFERENCE audience. Decided through audience voting, one lucky startup will be chosen as the winner of the Green Start-up Slam, Singapore 2024. The winner will receive a market readiness workshop with BCG X Greentech and be sponsored to attend next year’s international Green Start-up Slam Grand Final at the flagship GREENTECH FESTIVAL in Berlin. Additionally, start-ups and investors will have the opportunity to connect and network during our Green Investors Crunch, held at lunchtime on the CONFERENCE day.

Leading innovations and ideas and the GTF EXHIBITION

At the EXHIBITION, visitors can explore cutting-edge green technologies and solutions from companies actively working towards a net-zero future. Among these are Audi, featuring a VR experience of the Q6 e-tron, and the Lufthansa Group, showcasing innovations in aviation. Additional highlights include Curated Culture’s science-backed beverages that promote healthy living, moomoo’s sustainable ETF options, Hestiya transparency solutions for emissions management, and The Mills International highlighting their expertise in sustainable, high-quality flooring.
Looking ahead to the event, GTF Co-Founder Marco Voigt expresses his enthusiasm for returning to Singapore, highlighting the city’s pivotal role in  advancing green technology: “We are thrilled to be back in Singapore for the third year in a row. The past events have been truly inspiring, and we’re excited to again be offering a stage for innovative minds and companies. Singapore’s dedication to sustainability aligns with our vision, and together we can drive impactful solutions that contribute to a greener future for all.”

Closing the Festival with Action: Beach Cleanup with Stridy at East Coast Park

On 23 October, the final day of GREENTECH FESTIVAL Singapore, a beach cleanup will be held in collaboration with Stridy, a non-profit startup looking to tackle waste management issues such as littering, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Marine Cove, East Coast Park. This initiative will address both local litter and marine debris, highlighting the importance of environmental stewardship.
