Instituta Hak Asasi Perempuan (Institute For Women Human Rights)


Institute Hak Asasi Peremuan (Institute for Women’s Human Rights) (IHAP) is a women-led NGO based in Yogyakarta, with field offices in three provinces of Indonesia – Central Java, North Central Timor (TTU) and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Established in March 2004 by four feminists concerned about the condition of Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHRs) in Indonesia, IHAP’s mission is to create a better life for women and girls by raising awareness of women’s human rights and gender equality through delivering a range of SRHR education, LGBT awareness raising and women’s leadership and empowerment programmes. The areas where IHAP has programmes includes:
  • North Central Timor (TTU) – SRHR for youth
  • East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) – SRHR for youth
  • Boyolali, Central Java Province – strengthening the role of women leaders in fulfilment of SRHR in villages; SRHR for youth
