Call For Volunteers : Help Youths Discover Meaningful Careers

Volunteer opportunities for professionals helping youths discover and find meaningful careers !

While young people are considered ‘less physically’ at risk from the COVID-19 pandemic, they are some of the most vulnerable to its economic and social impacts. Young people are right to assume the insecurity about the future is even greater. Thus, making informed decisions about what to study or what kind of work to search for has a lasting impact on their lives.

In Singapore, The Astronauts Collective (TAC) has responded to the challenge by creating collaborative programmes for youths to help them better understand the world of work and discover meaningful careers.

RELEVANT SUSTAINABLE GOALS

World X EVENT by The Astronauts Collective (TAC)

From 14 – 17 July 2021, TAC will be organising World X, a customised career exploration event for tertiary students (ITE, polytechnic, university) in Singapore (https://www.hellotac.org/worldx).

Through World X, TAC hopes to share with youths about diverse careers that contribute to different Worlds (equal world, sustainable world, and informed world). Each World will feature a diversity of career professionals whose work contribute to that World. Participants (tertiary students) will get to:

Try out Job Tasters – Experience mini activities run by the career professionals to learn more about the professionals’ work.

Have a World Chat – Interact with these professionals through a moderated interview to understand how the professionals’ work can contribute to different Worlds.
Network at World Connections – Engage with up to 30 career professionals every evening, with different jobs that all contribute towards that particular World.

The programme will be conducted after office hours (from 7:00 – 10:30pm) so participants would not need to miss school/work. Participants will get to sign up for one, two or all three of the featured Worlds.

TAC is currently looking for volunteer professionals whose work contributes to different Worlds of Work to join us in engaging youths at the event.
