Join Grassroots Future for our annual World Refugee Day event, to celebrate refugee contributions to society and connect through culture and food.

About this event

Ahead of World Refugee Day (June 20), we are excited to present Grassroots Future in person for the first time since our “birth” late last year! Many of our friends in the refugee community and supporting partners will come together to showcase their talents and projects, and discuss why we should and how we can build a community that invests in a bottom-up future that welcomes and empowers the displaced.

Session A (2-3:30pm)

  • Poetry performances by poets from the World Poetry Day Competition
  • Panel discussion 1: Sustainability & the Refugee Community
  • Stand-up comedy by the multi-talented John Outsider

Session B (3:30-5pm)

  • The Plight of Refugees in HK – video produced by Our Lives Matter
  • Panel discussion 2: Power of Refugee-led Initiatives
  • LIVE MUSIC that will get you MOVING!

Art installation, craft market, and drinks & delicious nibbles available throughout the event.
